A Course In Miracles -What Is It?

"A Course In Miracles" is the compilation of revelations received by demonic (spirit) channeling.

It was written by Dr. Helen Schucman of "The Foundation for Inner Peace," and in collaboration with Dr. William Thetford who helped in the publishing.

Although an atheist, Dr. Schucman claims she "received" the three-volumes over a period of seven years, channeling it from an "inner voice" who named itself "Jesus Christ," and who told her he was going to correct errors in the Bible.

It is viewed by some as a "New Age Bible."

It consists of three volumes:
The Text, a Workbook, and a Manual For Teachers.
The Workbook is 365 lessons, one for each day of the year.

The purpose of the course is:
"...to teach the Course's reinterpretations of traditional Christian principles such as sin, suffering, forgiveness, Atonement, and the meaning of the Crucifixion."
Foundation for A Course In Miracles, "Forgiveness," p. 4

The course uses common Christian terms twisting and perverting them with metaphysical meaning.

The underlying theme of the course is Hinduism disguised in Christian terminology. It teaches the heresy that "all roads lead to God in the end."

Says It All:
Fr. Benedict J. Groeschel, C.F.R. is a psychologist who was an acquaintance of Helen Schucman. He wrote:

"This woman who had written so eloquently that suffering really did not exist spent the last two years of her life in the blackest psychotic depression I have ever witnessed."

"A Still, Small Voice, A Practical Guide On Reported Revelations," by Fr. Benedict J. Groeschel, C.F.R., Ignatius Press 1993, p.79
