"New Age" author and counselor Eckhart Tolle wrote "A New Earth, Awakening To Your Life's Purpose."
His esoteric philosophy states that everything comes from an impersonal and immaterial "life force" which then expresses itself in material form, and that humans are part of that expression. He urges the "enlightened" to become aware of their oneness with this "universal life force," and that man's purpose in life is to discover that he is an expression of this "life force."
Eckhart Tolle denies the existence of sin, which of course makes the death of Christ on the cross unnecessary.
The Word of God:
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23
The lines are very clearly being drawn between Biblical Christianity and the emerging heresies deceiving all who reject the authority of the Word of God.
Over two million people from 139 countries have participated with Oprah Winfrey and Eckhart Tolle in an internet seminar covering each chapter of his book.
Perhaps the most arrogant heresy against the living God is Tolle's statement:
“The ultimate truth of who you are is not I am this or I am that but I am.”
Why is using the term "I am?" the greatest heresy?
Because that's the Name God has revealed is His own:
"Then Moses said to God, 'Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name?' what shall I say to them?'' And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM.'' And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, `I AM has sent me to you.' ''
Exodus 3:13-14
Jesus revealed who He is, and when the unbelieving Jewish leaders heard what He said they were so incensed that they tried to stone Him. Hear what He said:
"Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.'' Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the Temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by."
John 8:58-59
